Korem gets salary bump, extension

I’m technically on vacation, but was looking up something and noticed that another coaching contract has been updated on UK’s website …

Seems the Kentucky coaches on the field aren’t the only ones that Mark Stoops wants to keep around.

In a contract amendment dated April 1, UK extended Erik Korem’s deal an extra year to 2017 and agreed to pay its High Performance Coach an additional $60,000 a year.

That salary bump to $270,000 makes Korem the fourth-highest paid coach on Stoops’ staff behind offensive coordinator Neal Brown ($550,000), defensive coordinator D.J. Eliot ($500,000) and recruiting coordinator/tight ends coach Vince Marrow ($275,000).

Brown and Eliot did not get salary increases like the rest of UK’s coaching staff this offseason, but they did receive extensions through 2017 like Korem.

UK’s other coaches all have deals that run through 2016.
