Will gray get play for Kentucky?

BPoFDEzCIAAyND5Short of actually declaring that he was planning to wear the uniform in a year or two, Matt Elam couldn’t have drawn more interest with a tweet than he did this weekend.

Elam, a five-star defensive tackle from John Hardin, tweeted out a picture of Cats commit Denzel Ware holding a gray Kentucky jersey with blue sleeves and a helmet with a matte gray finish and the interlocking “UK.”

The picture had Twitter and Lexington radio waves abuzz on Monday with the prospect of new uniforms, including the gray one.

UK spokesman Tony Neely checked with Coach Mark Stoops to see if the gray will clothe the Cats this season.

“He said we are always looking at different options but have not made any decisions about uniform changes,” Neely relayed.

So Kentucky fans likely will be in the dark (gray) for another month or two.
