Joker Philllips a country music star?

While Joker Phillips had his game face on Saturday, he did have one light-hearted moment as he pretended to interview country music artist J.D. Shelburne for the media. The two met at the Barnstable Brown party on Derby eve this year. Shelburne said he was pulled on stage by Eddie Montgomery that night and he saw Phillips in the corner and wanted to get the coach on stage.

“I’m a huge Cats’ fan, a UK graduate, graduated from here in ’07 and sure enough we sang The Joker,” Shelburne said.He can sing, too. We hit it off and once we got off stage, we exchanged numbers and he’s taken me under his wing ever since. It’s been awesome. He played bass in (my Farmboy) video and he was just awesome.”
